Investors from the USA Met with Farmers of Pavlodar Region

With the assistance of KAZAKH INVEST was organized a visit of a large American food company to Kazakhstan. Champion Foods is considering the possibility of creating an enterprise for processing agricultural products in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the meeting, Meirzhan Yussupov Chairman of the Board of “NC “KAZAKH INVEST” JSC noted that the entry into the market and the implementation of the project of such a major player as Champion Foods will make a significant contribution to the development of the agro-industrial sector of Kazakhstan.


The four-day stay of the Champion Foods management ended with a trip to the Pavlodar region. There, large investors from the United States met with local farmers and discussed the possibility of increasing the production of special varieties of potatoes. On 15 thousand hectares of irrigated land, large farms already produce more than 500 thousand tons of potatoes per year. Pavlodar farmers have necessary equipment, experience, resources and they are ready to increase production capacity.

In turn, Champion Foods is considering localization opportunities, and the also intends to support the organization of systematic food exports from Kazakhstan to the markets of near and far abroad. The company is ready not only to provide offtake contracts (approx.press services – a contract for the purchase of products not yet produced), but also to provide new technologies. Champion Foods plans to invest in infrastructure and train personnel. Potatoes are the first direction from which investors are ready to start working. Moreover, the Americans intend to share their knowledge of the markets, formulate marketing goals and jointly implement other projects on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In addition, within the framework of the visit of the Vice President of Champion Foods Jonathan Buring to Kazakhstan, three memorandums of understanding were signed in the development and implementation of investment projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan. On behalf of the Kazakh side, the documents were signed by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, “NC “KAZAKH INVEST” JSC and “CRTP “QazTrade” JSC.

Jonathan Buring, Vice President of Champion Foods: “In Kazakhstan, we have signed memorandums with three different agencies. We are sure that this is just the beginning. And our joint actions in the future will create a historic alliance in the development of agriculture between Kazakhstan and the United States. We are ready to support Kazakh producers in organizing the systemic export of food products "Made in Kazakhstan" to the markets of near and far abroad."
